Atlantic
Jay manages Agency MBS Derivatives Hedge Funds in the early 1990’s when the Interest-Only market is inefficient.  In the late 90’s Jay takes charge of Atlantic’s long-only pension SMA business.

1987

1999

Semper Capital
In 1999, as Managing Director, Jay helps facilitate the sale of Atlantic to Utendahl Capital Management which becomes Semper Capital.  Jay serves as Head of Mortgages.

Jay Hires Boris
Boris is hired as Senior Analyst.

2005

2010

Jay Named CIO of Semper Capital
Semper restructures as a Mortgage Credit specialist.  Jay, formerly Head of Mortgages, takes over as CIO.

Semper Launches Hedge Fund
Semper launches and Jay and Boris manage Mortgage Credit Hedge Funds as the Non-Agency RMBS market becomes inefficient after the Global Financial Crisis.

2011

2013

Semper Launches Mutual Fund
MBS Total Return Fund is launched by Semper in July.  Jay is Lead Portfolio Manager and Boris is Head Structured Credit Trader.

Mutual Fund Receives 5-Star Rating
Mutual Fund reaches 3-year anniversary in July and receives 5-star rating from Morningstar for the trailing 3 years in the Non-Traditional Bond category.  Jay and Boris leave Semper in August.

Orange Investment Advisors Founded
Orange is founded by Jay and Boris.

Orange Launches Mutual Fund
Income Opportunities Fund is launched by Orange in August based on Structured Credit Value Strategy.  Jay is Lead Portfolio Manager and Boris is Head Structured Credit Trader.

2018

2020

Orange Launches Hedge Fund
3(c)(1) Private Fund is launched by Orange in November to take advantage of the market dislocation in the wake of the COVID crisis.

Mutual Fund Receives 5-Star Rating
Mutual Fund reaches 3-year anniversary in August and receives 5-star rating from Morningstar for the trailing 3 years in the Multi-Sector Bond category.  Shawn Hudson is hired as Analyst to support investment team.

2023

Mutual Fund Reaches 5-Year Track Record
Mutual Fund achieves 2nd percentile ranking on 5-year anniversary in August from Morningstar for the trailing 5 years in the Multi-Sector Bond category.

Orange Upgrades Operations Systems
Orange hires Clearwater Analytics and contracts with DTCC for Inventory and Order Management Systems.

Marcia Wood is hired as CCO to take over compliance responsibility.
